To determine the penetration resistance, the Penetrometer is firmly pushed into the soil at a uniform rate. When the top of the penetration cone is reached, the proving ring dial is read. The corresponding penetration loads can be determined from the calibration chart supplied. The proving ring dial indicator is equipped with a maximum load pointer.

Penetrometer is lightweight and compact and is supplied with a handle and rod extension. The single proving ring has a capacity of 1 kN. The extension rod is graduated every 150mm. The cone points are easily removed. Diameter of the shaft is 19mm.
