For determination of (OPEN CUP) flash & fire points of petroleum products and other liquids except fuel oils and those materials having an open cup flash below 79° C (175° F) as per specification IP 36 and IS 1448 [(P : 69) 19691.. The apparatus consists of a machined brass oil cup with handle. This rests on a heating plate which is covered with insulated board to prevent heat loss. There is a thermometer clip and test flame arrangement with swivel joint for passing over test liquid surface in the prescribed manner. Electrically operated heater is provided with temperature regulating device. Suitable to work on 220 V AC, 50 HZ mains.
